UNC basketbal recruiting target sets decision date

The UNC basketball program will learn their fate for a big recruiting target
The North Carolina Tar Heels have yet to land a commitment in the 2026 basketball recruiting class, missing out on a few big targets. But they will soon find out their fate for another big target this week.
Five-star small forward Maximo Adams is one the top remaining targets for the Tar Heels in the 2026 class and he’s set to make his decision on Friday. Adams will make a commitment on Friday, ending his recruitment and picking between finalists Kentucky, Michigan State, North Carolina, and Texas.
Adams is one of the top players in the 2026 recruiting class and recently took a visit to Chapel Hill. He came away impressed and included UNC on his finalists list.
The 6-foot-7, 205-pound Adams is from California and plays at Sierra Canyon High School. He’s ranked No. 22 nationally, the No. 10 small forward and No. 5 player in the state of California per the 247Sports composite rankings.
For North Carolina, this is a huge decision. They don’t have a commitment just yet and while they expect a lot of their roster to return from this year, landing a player like Adams would be huge for Hubert Davis and his staff moving forward.
