5-Star PF Cameron Williams Reveals CBB Commitment Between Duke, Texas, Arizona

Top power forward prospect Cameron Williams committed to Duke on Friday.
Williams narrowed down his list of finalists to Arizona, Texas and Duke before announcing his decision to join the Blue Devils.
The 5-star prospect is listed as the No. 1 power forward and No. 4 overall player in the country as part of the 2026 recruiting class, per 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Williams also received offers from Indiana, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Kentucky, Purdue, SMU and USC, among others.
He visited the Blue Devils’ campus on Oct. 3 and came away impressed with head coach Jon Scheyer as well as the atmosphere at the team’s Countdown to Craziness festivities.
“I felt Coach Scheyer was cool, normal and authentic in what he said and did,” Williams told ESPN’s Jeff Borzello and Paul Biancardi. “I watched practice, and I saw he is not a crazy coach but he does get intense. He gets along well with his players. My family felt the same.”
“The energy in that place was crazy, and it truly shows how much support the basketball team has from everyone,” he added.
Williams used his 6’11” frame to stand out on both ends of the floor during his 2024-25 season at St. Mary’s High School in Arizona, averaging 18.0 points and 11.2 rebounds to go along with 2.6 blocks per game (via MaxPreps).
He’ll now join a loaded Duke 2026 recruiting class that already includes 5-star forward Bryson Howard and 4-star center Maxime Meyer.
