Perišić: It’s not a game we can be satisfied with, but these guys deserved their luck and reached an important point.

The performance in Yerevan was far from a true edition of the young falcons, but despite that, three new points arrived, and that is the most important thing.
The young Montenegrin national football team defeated Armenia (2:1) and after five rounds of qualifying for the European Championship, the score is 3-2.
Goran Perišić’s team survived several home losses, but also showed character and celebrated even when they were not having their day.
“A tough game – we started the match poorly and gave the initiative to the hosts from the start. Our energy was very poor, but even from such a game we had a goal from Vladimir Perišić, and we were the first to score after a nice action and a used penalty,” said coach Perišić.
Montenegro led after the aforementioned penalty kick, and then, towards the end of the first half, after a major defensive error, “gave away” a goal to Armenia.
“We were unable to impose our style of play even after the goal and we conceded a goal due to our nonchalance,” added Perišić.
At the beginning of the second half, Balša Mrvaljević decided the match – his shot caught one of the defenders and fooled the Armenian goalkeeper.
“In the second half, everything looked much better, you could say that the substitutions brought some liveliness, but this is still not a game we can be satisfied with. We were lucky with Mrvaljević’s winning goal, but I believe that luck needs to be earned and these guys earned it with their attitude and behavior throughout the qualifiers,” the coach said.
Italy is arriving in Nikšić on Tuesday.
“This was a very important victory for us, we are firmly in third place and I hope we will recover well for the match against the strong Italian team. I would also call on the fans to support us in as many numbers as possible, because these guys deserve it,” concluded Perišić.
