“He is the Michael Jordan of Lance Stephenson’s” – NBA Fans Abuzz as LaMelo Ball’s Wild POTUS Dreams From Timberwolves Draft Process Surfaces Online

The Minnesota Timberwolves had the chance to draft LaMelo Ball in 2020. However, they shifted their focus to Anthony Edwards, who has become their franchise star. Ball, on the other hand, was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets with the No. 3 pick that year.
During the pre-draft process, the Wolves had the chance to host a workout and interview with the 6-foot-7 guard. While his on-court talent was outstanding, Minnesota backed off because of what he said in the interview. According to The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski, the Western Conference team was taken aback when Ball said that he wanted to become president of the United States.
“And LaMelo… did not interview very well. One of the questions they asked him was: ‘Hey LaMelo, after you’re done playing, what do you see yourself doing? What kind of things do you aspire to?’ And LaMelo said: ‘I want to be President of the United States’,” Krawczynski wrote.

LaMelo Ball is listed as probable against the Bucks on Friday
LaMelo Ball has missed five straight games due to right ankle soreness/impingement. During that stretch, the Hornets had a 2-3 record. On Friday, Charlotte is set to face the Milwaukee Bucks for their second In-Season Tournament (NBA Cup) game.
According to the team’s post on Thursday, the Hornets have listed Ball as probable for the game. It will be a significant help to have him in the lineup, as they are without Josh Green, Grant Williams, Ryan Kalkbrenner and Terry Rozier.
This season, Ball has appeared in six games, averaging 23.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 9.8 assists. He is in his sixth year in the NBA, and there is a level of pressure for him to lead the Hornets to a winning record.
LaMelo Ball has not led Charlotte to a playoff appearance. Injuries have affected his availability, limiting his on-court presence over the past few seasons. He only participated in 47 games last season, which is already better than the 22 games he competed in during the 2023–24 campaign.
