Major country music star on touring Australia, ‘I’m not having fun, I want to go home’

Country music megastar Jelly Roll did not enjoy his time in Australia for a number of reasons. But none of them had to do with his fans or the handful of performances he had while touring the country.

Instead, mental and physical issues took a toll on the “I Need a Favor” singer who was in Australia for roughly two weeks recently.

“Yeah, I’m doing the worst mentally I’ve done in a long time,” Jelly Roll said during an appearance on the “No Filter” podcast with Kate Langbroek.

Jelly Roll went on to explain that because of how the tour was set up, he was spending a lot of time alone in hotel rooms. When touring the U.S., he typically travels on a bus with other people, which helps with socializing.

“I don’t like spending a lot of time in my hotel room by myself,” he said. “I’m in my head. I’m not having fun, I want to go home.”

Along with the mental toll, Jelly Roll said the travel was having an impact on his stomach, which was causing him to feel ill throughout the trip. Jelly Roll explained that he typically deals with stomach issues, but the tour of Australia exacerbated those problems.

“I naturally have an uneasy stomach,” he said. “When my stomach’s not right, nothing is right. My mind’s not right, I’m just not thinking clear. All I’m thinking bout right now is ‘why does my stomach feel like this?’”

He also endured some rough treatment from staff at a Louis Vuitton store Last week. A clip shared on Instagram stories showed the star shortly after leaving the Sydney store.

“The Louis Vuitton in Sydney legitimately just treated us like we were finna come in and rob that place,” Jelly Roll said. “Listen, the last time I was looked at like a criminal this bad, I was an actual criminal this bad.”

Jelly Roll’s first show in Australia was on Oct. 24, with his final show Nov. 6. The star appears to be back on this side of the Pacific Ocean as he’s set to return to the stage in Mexico City on Saturday Nov. 15.
