Marvel actress Hayley Atwell has pulled out of Liverpool Comic Con later this month, organisers have confirmed. The popular fan convention returns to the Exhibition Centre Liverpool this autumn, running from Saturday, November 15 to Sunday, November 16, and is set to welcome thousands of fans eager to meet some of their favourite film and TV stars.

However, event organisers announced today (November 6) that the Captain America and Mission: Impossible star will no longer be attending due to filming commitments.

In a statement shared on Facebook, Liverpool Comic Con said: “Unfortunately Hayley Atwell is now filming next weekend and unable to attend the event.

“We are hoping to reschedule her appearance in 2026, but until that can be completely confirmed we are going to automatically issue refunds for all solo photos and autos.

“Hayley is disappointed not to be attending and wouldn’t want us to confirm a new date until her new schedule is completely confirmed.

“To our knowledge, at this stage, every other guest is attending next weekend – with flights, hotels and travel booked!”

Even without Atwell, fans can still look forward to a star-studded weekend featuring Dirty Dancing legend Jennifer Grey and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off favourite Jeanie Bueller, alongside a host of other big names.

Liverpool Comic Con has become one of the city’s biggest pop culture events, regularly attracting major stars and thousands of fans from across the country.

Comic Con fans can purchase a variety of tickets including full weekend or one day only passes. There is also the annual after party at Camp and furnace and meet and greet opportunities with your favourite stars. You can purchase tickets here.
