Home targeted in ‘reckless’ drive by shooting

A home has been shot at during a drive by shooting in Sydney’s south west, in what police are describing as a “reckless and dangerous” incident.
About 2.20am on Saturday, emergency services were called to a home on MacKellar Street, Casula, after reports that shots were fired.
A machine gun was used, The Daily Telegraph reported, which allegedly peppered the home with more than 40 bullets.
Liverpool City Police Area Command Superintendent Scott Tanner said the incident was “reckless and dangerous”.
“We won’t stand for it,” he said in an update on Saturday afternoon.
“There are a number of families that reside in that street and all it takes is one bullet to go astray and it can cause massive heart ache for families.”
Police believed the incident was a targeted attack.
No one was home at the time of the shooting, and there were no reports of injuries.
Shortly after the shooting, a black Audi was seen driving west along Leacocks Lane.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
