A-lister’s son unmasked in dark posts

Pierce Brosnan publicly reunited with his estranged troubled son earlier this week, but new details reveal just how difficult it must have been for the Bond actor to let bygones be bygones.
While his son’s former drug addiction struggles are much publicised and the reason why Pierce originally cut contact with Chris Brosnan, 56, major clues now point to it not having been the only cause of fracture between the father and son pair.
Rewind back to 2020, Pierce shared a heartbreaking story with Parade Magazine where he revealed that he had lost two close friends during the pandemic.
“I lost two friends to COVID-19,” he said, adding: “they were friends of 45 years, and I am godfather to [one’s] son.”
“You have to keep pushing the rock uphill, and you have to keep involved in life. We are at war. People are dying.”
During this time, Pierce and his son were still very much estranged, at least publicly, which is no surprise considering what Chris shares on his public Facebook profile.
According to Daily Mail, the bizarre account is filled with hundreds of posts concerning his dark obsession with Covid conspiracy theories.
According to just some of his posts, Chris believes both coronavirus and the subsequent lockdowns were part of a larger global conspiracy.
He went to a huge gathering of people protesting against Covid lockdowns in August 2020 in Trafalgar Square, London.
Furthermore, he also claims that “chemtrails” visible in the sky show that we are being poisoned by metals by the government.
Chris also captioned a picture of numerous world leaders at the G7 summit in 2022: “Hell is empty, and all the devils are here.”
The G7 Summit is used for world leaders to discuss important issues such as climate change, something that’s very dear to Pierce’s heart as an environmentalist.
It paints a picture of someone with vastly differing believes to Pierce, who has proudly previously labelled himself an environmentalist, left-wing and anti-Trump.
“I love nature,” Pierce told Gentleman’s Journal in 2021. “I grew up in the countryside. But it was because of Ted Danson and his oceans campaign that I began to support this work, as an environmentalist. He is a very passionate man. And, because of his concerns for the ocean, and living in Malibu, my interest was spawned there. Once you put your toe into those waters, there’s no going back.
“Because we are in a pretty bad shape, you know?” the actor added. “With what we do to the oceans, and the dismantling of the old growth trees and deforestation. So that work is very close to my heart.”
A close friend of Pierce’s told Daily Mail Chris is known to have some “wild” personal views on the world.
“Chris is a nice guy. He’s not a bad person at all, and he’s not a Hollywood brat,” said the pal.
“Some of his views are a bit wild but you can only speak as you find, and he’s always seemed like one of the good people. He never traded on the whole ‘My dad was James Bond’ thing.
“I saw him recently in London by chance. He didn’t look so good but he’s been through a lot. He had a baseball cap on and long hair. He seems to have smartened himself up and straightened out in recent months. His life has been so tragic that you can only wish him well.”
Chris battled a cocaine and heroin addiction, dating back to the 2000s.
In 2005, Pierce came to the decision to cut ties with his son, after his addiction had gotten so bad it saw him fall into a coma from an overdose.
Speaking to Playboy at the time about having hope for his son’s recovery, Pierce shared: “Christopher is still very lost. Shockingly so. I know where he is, but he’s having a hard life.
“I can only have strong faith and believe he will recover.
“He has tested everybody in this family but none more so than himself.
“He knows how to get out. He doesn’t want to.”
