Major road closures this weekend around Uptown for Charlotte Marathon: What to know

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Major road closures will take place Saturday morning into the early afternoon for the 2025 Novant Health Charlotte Marathon.

The race, which begins around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, and continues into the afternoon, will impact traffic throughout the greater Uptown area.

Significant roadways may close as early as 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, while others will shut down only at designated times as runners move through the race course.

Major road closures

West Fourth Street, between South Graham Street and South Poplar Street, will be closed from Friday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m. through Saturday, Nov. 15, at 3:30 p.m.

The roads listed below will be closed on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 4 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

  • South Mint Street between West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and West Trade Street
  • South Tryon Street between West Fourth Street and West Brooklyn Village Avenue

Below is a list of the popular neighborhoods where streets will be impacted or closed for most of the race.

  • Myers Park
  • Dilworth
  • Plaza Midwood
  • NoDa
  • South End
