‘College GameDay’ Announces NFL Legend as Celebrity Guest Picker for Week 12

The college football season has flown by, and as Week 12 approaches, there are only a few more Saturdays left for ESPN’s popular pregame show “College GameDay.”
This week, the show will head to Pittsburgh for a massive Top-25 showdown between the No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the No. 22 Pittsburgh Panthers at Acrisure Stadium.
On Thursday, “College GameDay” officially announced that Pittsburgh native and NFL legend Aaron Donald will serve as this week’s celebrity guest picker. Donald will also have his collegiate jersey retired in honor of his dominant four-year career with the Panthers from 2010 to 2013.
“Aaron Donald is returning to Pitt to be this week’s guest picker and have his jersey retired,” the “College GameDay” X account posted.

Fans had some strong reaction to the show’s choice for guest picker.
“Pitt legend,” a fan said.
Someone else added: “no brainer.”
Another person wrote: “I think he has 1 year of eligibility left! Retire his jersey after the game.”
“I’m not surprised it was his school,” one more fan commented.
It’s also rumored that fellow football legends Jerome Bettis — who starred at Notre Dame before his Hall of Fame career with the Pittsburgh Steelers — and Tony Dorsett, who led the Pitt Panthers to a national championship in 1976, will join the show at some point.
“College GameDay” hasn’t visited Pittsburgh’s campus since 2022, and before that, its last appearance came all the way back in 2005 — also for a matchup against Notre Dame, which the Fighting Irish won 42–21.
