JJ Redick on Luka Doncic struggles: The last two games, they’ve had All-NBA defenders on him

JJ Redick, coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, spoke to the media after their road game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Lakers didn’t face any major problems in that game, justified their status as favorites, and secured a 118-104 victory.

What could potentially worry Redick is Luka Doncic’s slightly weaker performance. In this game, he scored 24 points but shot rather poorly from the field, going 6-for-16.

“They put a lot of pressure. The last two games, they’ve had All-NBA defenders on him. We’ve got to do a better job of getting the ball to him in the right spots, at the nail and on the block.

We tried with some choice stuff, and we tried with some random flash stuff, and couldn’t get the right execution on it. We’ll continue to work with that,” JJ Redick said.

Despite slightly weaker performances in the last two games, Luka Doncic’s statistics this season remain incredible. Over eight games, he is averaging 34.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 8.9 assists.

What’s important is that the Lakers have an excellent record this season, with nine wins and four losses, but their next game will be much more challenging as they travel to face the Milwaukee Bucks.
