“2-3 years Dagestan” – Fans speculate Islam Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov trolled Craig Jones after UFC 322 demolition job

Even training under one of the greatest jiu-jitsu minds of all time, Craig Jones, couldn’t help Jack Della Maddalena stop Islam Makhachev’s wrestling threat at UFC 322. A clip of Jones’ post-fight interaction with Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov has now sparked fresh speculation among fight fans.

Footage in question shows Makhachev interacting with Maddalena’s corner following the win, seemingly teasing Jones, urging him to come 2-3 years to Dagestan.

Soon after, Nurmagomedov is also seen talking with Jones while interacting with the former champion’s corner.

Makhachev’s iconic line, “Send him 2-3 years [in] Dagestan,” originally aimed at his friend and teammate Daniel Cormier as a pitch to send his sons to train wrestling under him in Dagestan, has since become immortalized in MMA pop culture.

At UFC 322, Makhachev utilized his unparalleled grappling to smother Della Maddalena. The constant threat of the takedown impaired the Australian even in the standup, while the Russian battered him with leg kicks, severely compromising his movement midway through the contest.

When the final score cards were read, Makhachev emerged the victor, scoring 50-45 across the judges’ score cards. The 34-year-old is now the 11th two-division champion in the UFC and has tied the legendary Anderson Silva’s 16-fight win streak.
