Chelsea make contact to sign PL player – Manchester City also in picture

Manchester City and Chelsea are in the picture to sign Crystal Palace’s Daniel Muñoz, according to Colombian journalist Julián Capera.
He’s covered Manchester City and Chelsea interest in the right-back for F5 al Mercado de Pases and Semana have relayed his comments.
Recent claims have stated Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are looking at the Crystal Palace player.
The Catalan media have covered claims made elsewhere about Barcelona eyeing the 29-year-old as a backup for Jules Koundé.
PSG are set to be without Achraf Hakimi for a while after he suffered an injury earlier this month. This has seen them linked to a few right-backs including the Crystal Palace man.
Chelsea, Barcelona, PSG and Manchester City all said to be keen
Capera now claims Chelsea, Barcelona and PSG have all had informal contact with the Colombia international’s camp.
“You’re asking about Barcelona, PSG, and Chelsea. The situation is this: his team, his representatives, have had informal communications, that’s how they’ve expressed it to me, with some representatives from those clubs,” he said.
Manchester City also have him on their list. The journalist added that none of Muñoz’s suitors have made a formal offer so far.
“There have been polls and informal talks with people from Barcelona, with people from PSG, and even Chelsea and Manchester City have been added to that list. As of today, November 11th 2025, there is no formal offer for Daniel Muñoz,” Capera explained.
If Manchester City and Chelsea are keen on taking Muñoz away from Crystal Palace, they could face a battle with Barca and PSG.
The fullback joined the FA Cup winners from KRC Genk in January 2024.
Muñoz has been the first choice right-back at Selhurst Park since then and impressed for Crystal Palace. Back in April, Oliver Glasner’s side rewarded him a new contract until 2028 with an option for another year.
