Nine blasted over Golden Bachelor claim

The daughter of one of this year’s stars of The Golden Bachelor has hit out at Nine, alleging that the network hasn’t done enough to protect her mother from “racist” comments.
Chloe, the daughter of contestant Sunny Long, took to TikTok after Monday night’s episode to reveal that she had been left “shaking with anger”.
She revealed that her mother has been the target of numerous vile remarks online about her race, and it’s left her devastated as a result.
“Living in Australia with an Asian mum, I have seen mum experience so much racism. And so obviously, you know, her being on the show, I was terrified for that from the possible contestants and the Australian public,” she said on TikTok.
“And it’s just worse than I could have imagined,” she continued.
Chloe went on to lash out at Nine, whom she alleges have failed to remove offensive comments on their social platforms about her mother.
“I thought there would be some moderation from Channel 9. Like, it’s actually a joke. Top comments with … with 100 likes and they just leave it there,” she claimed.
“It is not OK. And obviously, you know, white boomers, unfortunately, you’re going to expect a lot of racism among that group. So maybe I should have known.”
“But it is horrible, just so, so horrible. Like, I actually, I’m shaking with anger. I just, I hate it,” she added.
News.com.au has approached Nine for comment.
Viewers rushed to agree with Chloe, with one remarking, “I’m making formal complaints to Channel 9. I will not let this rest.”
Another viewer said it appeared Chloe’s video had been noticed, claiming: “Just going through the posts on Facebook and TikTok regarding Sunny, I think some comments have now been disabled and deleted. They must have seen your video regarding your mum!”
Meanwhile, during the latest episode, Bachelor Bear made the ultimate decision to take Sunny and Janette through to the finale instead.
And there was no hiding how Kim, 60, was feeling as she leaned in for her final goodbye with the man with whom she was hoping to live happily ever after.
“WTF! Can’t believe Bear sent Kim, the least problematic person there, home,” one fan commented.
“Kim deserves so much better than Bore (Bear), she’s so out of his league,” another added.
And another applauded Kim for how well she handled the public break-up: “Well done, Kim. Classy to the end. You’ll find a good one.”
Speaking to Nine after her elimination, she shared, “I made a connection with Bear. I feel like maybe he did his grieving a different way to me and I think we both showed each other that there was a slightly different way to do it, nothing’s right, and he’s on his own journey that way and I’m on mine.”
The Golden Bachelor finale airs Sunday at 7pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
