The American action show blends science fiction and comedy, with highly decorated Hollywood leading man Seth Rogen serving as an executive producer alongside his childhood best friend and acclaimed screenwriter Evan Goldberg.
As for the cast, there are plenty of names that’ll surely entice you, with The Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson taking the lead as Josh Futturman, a cleaner working at a high-level medical research facility, still living with his parents and lacking both ambition and direction in his life.

That is, of course, until he is recruited.
Upon becoming the only person ever to complete the final level of the seemingly unbeatable video game Biotic Wars one night, Josh is visited by its main characters, Tiger (Eliza Coupe) and Wolf (Derek Wilson).
They reveal themselves to him via time travel and explain that they need his help in their war.
What follows is plenty of time-travelling for everyman Josh as he faces real Biotic Wars and attempts to change the future… and save humanity.
Other cast members include Rogen himself, Ed Begley Jr., Keith David, Glenne Headly, Haley Joel Osment, Britt Lower, and Awkwafina.
Future Man has been widely praised by fans over the years, many of whom were devastated when season 3 transpired to be the last in 2020.

What’s more, the full thing was removed from Disney streaming services, including Hulu and Disney Plus, in May 2023 due to budget cuts, meaning its Netflix debut is all the more exciting for both new viewers and old.
According to review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, audiences have given Future Man an overall 83% score, while critics place it even higher at a so-close-to-perfect 91%.
And it seems the show only gets better as you progress, with critics giving season 2 specifically 100%, deeming it incapable of improvement.
Among the reviews are plenty of glowing comments, claiming Future Man ‘checks all boxes’ and is ‘packed’ with action.
‘One of the greatest comedy sci-fi series of all times’, one user declares.
‘The most creative take on time travel in years’, states another.

‘I love this show. Just the characters themselves make the show.. no matter the plot. It feels weirdly like the perfect casting for every role. Are the plots wild? Yes, but you shouldn’t watch this if you wanted a normal plot’, says one.
‘An absolutely hilarious love letter to sci-fi with a great script and chemistry between the characters. Thoroughly enjoyable’, echoes David W.
‘this is cult material! sooooo funny’, writes Arnozet N.
Others have also rushed to leave their feedback since discovering Future Man on Netflix, with Jessica B writing: ‘Some Bit late to the party but thought I’d give it a watch as it came on Netflix. I must say I am thoroughly enjoying it. There are parts that have made me split my sides laughing, especially Wolf. It pokes fun at itself and it really is hilarious but with a meaningful plot and great character development. Can’t believe I haven’t heard of this before now!’
Meanwhile, TV critics have also long had good things to say about the hidden gem, as The Guardian, for example, branded it a ‘bonkers time-travel series full of smut, toilet humour, and sci-fi fun’.
Future Man is now streaming on Netflix.
