Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon announces engagement

Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has announced her engagement to Ryan Ledson, saying she “can’t wait” to tie the knot. The news comes after the pair have been together for five years, and it was welcomed by Fallon’s followers.
Taking to Instagram, Fallon posted several photos of herself and Ledson, a professional footballer, as they celebrated the actor’s birthday weekend. To top off the special time, she got an engagement ring to boot.
“Ending the birthday weekend with my best friend as a fiancé!!!! ✨ i can’t wait to marry you @ryanledson8 🩷” wrote Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt on the long-running ITV soap, in the caption.
The announcement was celebrated by several friends and followers in the comment section, with Corrie co-stars Cait Fitton, Vicky Myers and Andy Whyment, who play Lauren Bolton, Lisa Swain and Kirk Sutherland respectively, all sending messages.
There were also comments from other soap actors, with Hollyoaks star Jessamy Stoddart writing: “Huge congratulations 🥂”. Michelle Hardwick, who plays Vanessa Woodfield on fellow ITV soap Emmerdale, wrote: “Congratulations 🍾🥂💗”.

“I don’t plan on leaving Corrie to do other things,” she said. “In the past, I wanted to try maybe a drama – and I did that in the time that I was away – but [elsewhere] you don’t get the friendships.”
“I’ve gone back and it’s so familiar. I feel so comfortable, it’s consistent, I get to drive from home to work and then go back home to my children,” added the actor, who also appeared in reality series Drama Queens.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
