No. 1 QB Jayden Wade Commits to UGA, What You Need to Know on 5-Star’s Scouting Report

The Georgia Bulldogs will have a bright future, as class of 2028 5-star quarterback Jayden Wade announced his commitment to the program on Sunday.
Wade is ranked as the No. 1 quarterback and No. 4 overall player in the class of 2028 in 247Sports’ composite. He chose to commit to Georgia over offers from Oregon, Texas, Ohio State and many more.
A 6’3″, 190-pound prospect from IMG Academy in Florida, Wade highlighted the presence of head coach Kirby Smart and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo as one of the key reasons for his decision.
“Georgia is a great program,” Wade told DawgsHQ, per Jeremy Johnson of On3.com. “They develop their players for the NFL, but even more, they have great relationships with their players. Georgia feels like home…Coach Smart does a great job of building great energy in his program. As a QB, I thrive on great energy and being around great coaches like Coach Bobo.”
247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins described Wade as an “athletic signal-caller that has tested off the charts.” As a first-year starter for IMG Academy during his sophomore season in 2025, he reportedly posted a 9-0 record while throwing for 1,383 yards, 20 touchdowns and two interceptions and adding 243 rushing yards and three more scores.
“Cerebrally, he reminds me of CJ Stroud,” IMG Academy head coach and former Ohio State assistant Greg Studrawa told Ivins of Wade. “He always wants to study the game. I spent so much time with CJ talking about protections and all of those kinds of things. As a thrower, [Jayden] reminds me of him a lot too and then just how he wants to learn.”
If he continues his upward trajectory, Wade could have the chance to earn the starting job right away when he steps on campus for Georgia in 2028.
