Kansas City Chiefs OC Matt Nagy spotlights an impact player on offense this season

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy spoke with reporters on Thursday during his press conference, commenting on running back Kareem Hunt’s effectiveness in the offense this season.

“We do. We feel good about that. And I agree with you, in the game there versus Buffalo we had some good things going and sometimes it’s just the rhythm but big picture for us as we look at kind of how the year has gone.” said Nagy, “Where we feel with our run game, we feel like internally as an offense that we like some things we’re doing and we want to grow from that. It’s so important in these times, especially this time of year with the weather changes, you can’t be one dimensional number one, and number two you always got to be able to run the football, sets up play actions (and) screens, we like where we’re at, we want to keep that going and it’s going to be a super big test against a great defense.”

The veteran running back has been successful in short-yardage carries, especially in third and fourth-down situations. He was counted on more as a lead running back after the MCL injury to starter Isiah Pacheco during the Week 9 loss to Buffalo.

Hunt enters Week 11 with 294 rushing yards on 73 carries and five touchdowns.
