NFL: Chiefs coach Andy Reid gives his take on Broncos QB Bo Nix

Denver Broncos second-year quarterback Bo Nix seems to have hit a bit of a rough patch.
Nix has three touchdown passes and three interceptions over the last two games in which the offense scored 18 and 10 points. Denver won both of those contests, but Nix has faced some criticism for his recent performances.
This week, Nix will face the Kansas City Chiefs, who are led by coach Andy Reid. The three-time Super Bowl champion gave a positive review of Nix and Broncos coach Sean Payton earlier this week.
“He’s picking up what Sean is asking him to do,” Reid said of Nix. “Then executing it and doing a good job of that. That’s a primary responsibility of the quarterback. You’re going to be given a scheme, and then you got to become the master of it and then make everybody around you better. He’s done a nice job of that.”
Reid was asked if Nix has been going through some struggles because NFL defenses have more film on him.
“Listen, they all kind of go through a little bit of that,” Reid said. “He’s also won games, which ends up being the most important thing during tough times. You see that around the league, you see that. All these guys. Teams have an opportunity to study them, and they got to up their game and then they continue to grow. They grow, grow, grow for a few years, and then they either make it or they don’t make it at that point. To be able to sustain it for years is quite a tribute to these guys. He’s a young guy that’s continuing to see some different curveballs there.”
Nix has completed 60.9% of his passes for 2,126 yards with 18 touchdowns against eight interceptions this season while adding 205 rushing yards and three scores on the ground. He’ll face a tough opponent on Sunday as the Chiefs are only allowing 17.7 points per game, fourth-fewest in the NFL.
