NEW ORLEANS — Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody hit seven 3-pointers in the first quarter of Sunday night’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Moody scored 21 points in the quarter as the Warriors set a high in points in any quarter this season with 44.

Moody, a 2021 first-round pick, set a career high for points in a quarter and tied Stephen Curry for second-most three-pointers in a quarter in team history. The team high and NBA record is held by Klay Thompson, who hit nine 3-pointers in a quarter in a win over the Sacramento Kings in January 2015.

Moody’s blazing start helped the Warriors race out to a big lead and had his teammates celebrating on the bench after he knocked down his seventh 3 of the first quarter.
