Upon his return to the lineup, Moody showcased his shooting prowess by making five three-pointers in a recent game, bringing his season shooting percentage from beyond the arc to an impressive 44.3%. His shooting volume has also increased, with 10 attempts per 36 minutes, a notable rise from 7.4 attempts last season and 6.2 the year prior.
To provide perspective, Thompson consistently averaged between 7.5 and 8.8 three-point attempts per 36 minutes during his five consecutive All-Star seasons and maintained a shooting percentage over 40% in each of those years, peaking at 44% during the 2017-18 season. While it remains uncertain if Moody will achieve multi-time All-Star accolades or contribute to multiple championship teams, he is replicating aspects of Thompson’s game that are vital to the Warriors’ objectives.
