‘The medical anxiety is…’: Bella Hadid posts emotional health update, shares chronic illness’s truth—here’s how she’s coping now

Supermodel Bella Hadid is once again sharing her real-life struggle with chronic illness, and this time, the model is letting fans see the emotional side of her journey. On Nov. 14, the 28-year-old posted two Instagram Stories about her ongoing fight with Lyme disease. Her posts showed how unpredictable her health can be and how she tries to stay strong even when things get tough.
The first story was a meme that read, “When your chronic illness is chronic illness-ing and someone says, ‘It’s always something with you,’ like… yes… one might say the illness is… chronic.” Bella added no caption to it, letting the message speak for itself. That quiet moment set the tone for what she shared next.

Bella Hadid’s medical anxiety
In her second story, Bella opened up even more. She reshared a post by influencer Alexandra Wildeson talking about the “duality” of chronic illness. Over the post, Bella wrote, “The medical anxiety is soooooo real,” and thanked the creator for explaining what she feels every day. She added, “Thank you for putting every one of my thoughts and daily situations into one swipe. The truuuuuth! @alexandrawildeson.”
Her words made it clear that her struggle is not just with physical symptoms but also with the stress that comes with constant treatments and doctor visits. And as fans saw, that anxiety has been a big part of her life lately.

Bella Hadid’s Lyme disease treatment journey
Bella’s health challenges continued through the past few months. In September, she shared photos from a hospital bed, showing herself connected to IV bags as she received treatment for Lyme disease. Along with the pictures, she wrote on Instagram, “I’m sorry I always go MIA. I love you guys,” explaining why she sometimes disappears from social media.
Just days after that hospital stay, Bella pushed herself to slowly get active again. She posted photos of herself walking on a treadmill, saying it was her “first day in the gym in a long time!” She added, “Just walking, but still! Getting my stamina back,” showing how she was trying to rebuild her strength one step at a time.
Bella Hadid’s Paris Fashion Week comeback
Despite the difficult weeks, Bella made a surprising return to the runway. Soon after her hospital visit, she walked for Saint Laurent during Paris Fashion Week. Her appearance showed her determination to keep working even when her body feels weak.
Yolanda Hadid’s reaction to Bella’s health
Bella’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, has also spoken about how hard it is to watch her daughter suffer. In September, she wrote on Instagram about her “helplessness” seeing Bella “struggle in silence.” She called Bella a “warrior” and said the experience felt like an “unknown hell.” Her message showed how long the family has been dealing with this and how deeply it affects them.
