The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed exactly who is eligible for the Christmas Bonus payment this year.
Everyone eligible for the payment will receive it in December, the DWP confirmed, but only for those that claim certain benefits.
The Christmas Bonus is a one-off tax-free payment of £10 that is paid to those who are eligible in the “qualifying week”, which is normally the full first week of December.

This year, that will fall from December 1 to December 7.
The one-off payment will be deposited directly into bank accounts before Christmas and will appear as ‘DWP XB’ on your bank statement.
The DWP says you must live, or be “ordinarily resident” in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Gibraltar, during the qualifying week.
If you think you’re entitled to the £10 Christmas Bonus but you haven’t received it in the first week of December then you should contact the Jobcentre Plus office that deals with your payments or the Pension Service.
