- Valeri Nichushkin will miss his first game with a lower-body injury suffered on Tuesday against Anaheim. Without him available, the Avalanche are elevating Gavin Brindley to the second line. Colorado called up Taylor Makar to fill out the fourth line.
- Samuel Girard makes his return after missing the last 15 games. He hasn’t played since the home opener on Oct. 9 and will slot in on the third pair alongside Sam Malinski.
- Mackenzie Blackwood gets the nod in goal, his third start of the season and first on home ice.
