Mason Greenwood is one of many players to have departed Manchester United in recent years.
The 24-year-old, who departed the club following 129 appearances for United, was wanted by several Saudi Arabian clubs in the summer but ended up staying with Marsielle, who Greenwood joined in July of last year.
Furthermore, since this rejection of a move, the former United player has rejected an international call-up to Jamaica whilst also snubbing Cristiano Ronaldo creating an interesting off-the-field atmosphere.
However, on the field, the former English international has excelled scoring eight goals and assisting three times during the Ligue 1 season so far.
Furthermore, he has created 22 chances, completed 13 dribbles with the ball whilst also having 49 touches in the opposition box.
As well as this, one of these performances, against Le Havre, saw the 24-year-old match the feat of Ballon d’Or winner Jean-Pierre Papin through scoring four times in one game.
Now, with the international break in progress, Greenwood’s obsession with a return to England has been revealed.
According to the Daily Mail, Marsielle, believe that the reason Mason Greenwood rejected the international call-up to Jamaica is that the forward has become obsessed by an impossible dream and believes he can play for England again.
The former English international made just one appearance for the national team before being sent home after he, alongside Phil Foden, invited women into their hotel room during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Furthermore, the 24-year-old has since been exiled from England and looks unlikely to return to an English club, not to mention the national team.
As well as this, the belief that Greenwood will not return to the national team is emphaized through Thomas Tuchel’s very simple statement that the player “is not under consideration” for a return to the English national team.
