The Navi Mumbai International Airport is gearing up for a December 25 launch, marking a major expansion of aviation capacity in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. With this, MMR becomes India’s first urban cluster to be served by two commercial airports. The facility, inaugurated by the Prime Minister in October, is now entering its operational phase. Although authorities haven’t officially declared the date, airline schedules point clearly to Christmas Day. The dual-airport setup will ease congestion and give passengers more choice. It also signals a new era of regional connectivity.
