Man Utd ready another Baleba bid

Manchester United will make another attempt to sign Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba this January, according to a report in Metro. The Red Devils were reportedly priced out of a move for the Cameroon international in the summer, with Brighton demanding over £100 million for their star player.

However, United could be ready to test their resolve again this winter.

“Manchester United have been given the green light to sign Ruben Amorim’s £100m transfer target in January,” states the outlet.

“Manchester United expressed interest in signing Carlos Baleba over the summer and will make a renewed attempt to sign the Brighton star in January.

“Brighton spent just £20m on Baleba in 2023, but the 21-year-old is already viewed as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

“Baleba has also already indicated his desire to play for The Red Devils, who may have to fork out £100m to sign the Cameroon international.”

Man Utd set price for Zirkzee

Staying with Metro and Manchester United, and the outlet claims the club has set an asking price of £31m to sell Joshua Zirkzee.

The Dutchman managed just three goals in the Premier League last term and has struggled for game time so far this season.

“Manchester United have set their asking price for Joshua Zirkzee amid interest from Roma and two Premier League clubs,” reads the article.

“Zirkzee is yet to start a game during the 2025/26 campaign and is believed to be open to a move in January to revive his career and boost his chances of going to next summer’s World Cup.

“Roma are said to be leading the race to sign Zirkzee, although Premier League clubs Everton and West Ham have also been linked with moves for the Netherlands international.

“Manchester United are ready to sanction his departure – if the numbers are right – and Amorim has reportedly given the green light to the transfer.

“Gazzetta dello Sport say United are discussing a loan deal with Roma that would include an option for the Italian club to sign Zirkzee on a permanent transfer next summer.

“The report adds that Manchester United want €35m (£31m) for Zirkzee, the same fee that Roma are required to pay to sign Evan Ferguson permanently at the end of the season.

“Zirkzee would also need to agree to take a pay-cut to join Roma, who are hoping to make at least one attacking signing in the winter window.”

Old Trafford a ‘dream’ move for Munoz

The Manchester Evening News carries quotes from Crystal Palace full-back Daniel Munoz, who has named Manchester United a “dream” destination for him.

Munoz has established himself as one of the best right-backs since joining from Genk in 2024.

The article, citing quotes from Spanish outlet AS, reads: “When asked about a potential departure from Palace, he told AS: ‘I think there’s a lot of talk about one club or another. For me, it would be a dream to play for one of those clubs, whether it’s Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Manchester United.

“‘I think I’m working towards that; every day I give it my all so that maybe one day I can catch the attention of these clubs.

“‘Right now, I’m focused on my club, on doing things well at Crystal Palace. I’m not really aware of what’s being said; I don’t have any information about whether these teams want me or are interested in me.

“‘We’ll see when the winter transfer window approaches. Right now, I’m fully focused on these two matches with the national team.'”

Jesus eyes return to Brazil

The Mirror discusses Gabriel Jesus’ future at Arsenal, with the Brazilian aiming for a return to former club Palmeiras.

The Gunners signed Jesus from Manchester City for £45m in 2022, but persistent injuries have limited him to just 96 appearances since his arrival, netting 26 goals.

“Jesus has regularly been linked with moves away from Arsenal, with Everton the latest to be touted – albeit Arsenal will rebuff any attempt to sign him from their Premier League rivals,” states the newspaper.

“Jesus, 28, has now spoken out on his future and claimed that he wants to return to former club Palmeiras but only when the time is right. He said: ‘I’ve never had contact with another club, and my desire, as I say, is to return to Palmeiras, and Palmeiras’ desire is for me to return to Palmeiras.

“‘When I feel it’s time to return to Palmeiras, I’ll decide that with Arsenal, but we’re talking about a player who’s been out for nine months and is now fighting to get back into the team, and there are journalists who are talking without any basis whatsoever.'”
