The Ottawa Senators have acquired defenceman Dennis Gilbert from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for defenceman Max Guenette.
Gilbert, 29, appeared in four games with the Senators last season after he was acquired from the Buffalo Sabres on March 7. He signed a one-year contract with the Flyers as a free agent on July 1.
In parts of six NHL seasons, Gilbert has appeared in 111 games, scoring three goals and collecting 17 assists for 20 points. The Buffalo, New York native has been playing with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League this season.
