Jack Osbourne, the media personality and son of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, is currently appearing on this year’s series of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here. The reality star has been joined in the jungle by rapper Aitch, footballer Alex Scott, content creator Angry Ginge, EastEnders star Whitney Dean and radio presenter Eddie Kadie.

Jack first rose to prominence through the reality programme The Osbournes, which ran from 2002 to 2005, alongside his parents and sister Kelly. Subsequently, in 2005, he starred in his own series, Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie, in which he undertook extreme challenges, including mountain climbing and martial arts.

In 2016, Jack and his father, Ozzy, launched the reality TV programme Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour, in which the pair travelled across the globe.

Music legend Ozzy died at the age of 76 on July 22, just weeks following a Black Sabbath reunion concert held in his home city of Birmingham, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Given their close relationship, Jack has acknowledged that participating in the ITV programme will be “difficult” following the death of his rock icon dad. Speaking to ITV about his decision to join the show, Jack disclosed that his mum, Sharon, and sister, Kelly, have given him their full support.

He said: “Mum and Kelly, yeah, they are absolutely going to be watching. They are supportive.

“It’s absolutely going to be hard leaving them behind. I have got lots of kids, my wife, and my family still in the wake of my dad passing.

“It is going to be difficult, that is for sure. It’s not the longest amount of time I’ve been away from them. I’ve gone on different trips filming Adrenaline Junkie for nearly two months without a phone, but I still had access to one, and I was able to make calls home.

“It’s going to be very difficult not speaking to my wife and kids. But yes, I do hope I can make my family proud.”

He also acknowledged that viewers might hear him utter the famous phrase: “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here”, admitting he is “scared of the Bushtucker Trials”.

He said: “The advice my mum gave me was, ‘Don’t tell them what you’re really afraid of.'”

When Jack was 26 years old, he received a diagnosis of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an incurable neurological condition that damages the nerves and affects the transfer of messages around the body.

The following year, Jack danced his way to the final of Strictly Come Dancing US, demonstrating how he could remain active despite living with MS. He posted on Facebook in October 2013: “One of the first questions I was asked was, ‘How will having MS affect your ability to perform throughout the season?’ The truthful answer is… I had no idea.”

Prior to the final, he discussed his MS diagnosis and his dancing journey. Jack said: “Although since being diagnosed in May of 2012 with relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS) I’ve been able to maintain a very active and somewhat healthy lifestyle, I hadn’t had the opportunity to really figure out my limitations.”

In 2023, Jack had to pull out of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, the American version of SAS: Who Dares Wins, during episode six due to medical reasons. Show medics became worried about his elevated heart rate, resulting in his departure.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly at the time, he said: “The show’s doctors were more concerned than I was. I’m pretty healthy considering I’m living with MS, but it doesn’t present itself daily for me. I’ve been, touch wood, going pretty strong, and I don’t have any issues with it right now. So that wasn’t a concern.”
