Major water outage hits Sligo Town

A major water outage has hit parts of Sligo.

The significant burst to a water main happened earlier today.

In a statement, Uisce Éireann says it is working to restore normal water supply to homes and businesses in parts of Sligo town.

Customers on the Clarion Road from St. Joseph’s Church to the HSE Chronic Disease Management Hub in Ballytivnan, including St. Joseph’s NS and St. Edward’s NS will experience low water pressure or outages today as a result.

Expert water service crews have been dispatched and are working to minimise disruption and carry out the required repair works, with every effort being made to complete this work as quickly as possible.

Works are scheduled to take place until 6pm this evening.

Once normal operations are restored, it will take two to three hours for the network to refill and normal supply to return to all customers.
