Google Cloud and Ticketek AU unveil AI assistant ‘stella’ for event discovery

Google Cloud and Ticketek AU have announced a partnership to introduce Stella, an AI assistant designed to enhance event discovery and booking. The initiative aims to leverage conversational AI and advanced search technology to assist fans in finding and booking events.

Stella is developed using Vertex AI, Google Cloud’s AI platform, and is engineered to learn from fan interactions. This allows it to provide tailored event recommendations. The AI assistant can comprehend natural language inputs, including artist names, venues, moods, and genres, to deliver relevant results in real time.

The collaboration between TEG and Google Cloud seeks to transform the live entertainment experience by integrating AI and data innovation. TEG, a fan experience group that includes Ticketek, TEG Touring, TEG Sport, TEG Experiences, and Ovation, will utilise Google Cloud’s AI solutions to enhance every stage of the event lifecycle, from planning to fan engagement.

Cameron Hoy, COO and Head of Global Ticketing at TEG said, “We are delighted to be collaborating with Google Cloud on this strategic partnership, which truly represents a step-change for our industry,” he said.

Hoy stated, “This partnership isn’t just about technology, it’s about reimagining how fans connect with the moments that matter most.”

Paul Migliorini, vice president of Google Cloud Australia and New Zealand, highlighted the role of AI in the initiative. “AI is driving the next wave of innovation in fan engagement,” he noted.

Migliorini remarked, “With Google Cloud, TEG is reimagining the fan experience, and Stella is a prime example of this. By making it simpler for fans to find the entertainment they want, TEG is taking the guesswork out of search and discovery to deliver a more seamless, tailored and connected experience.”
