WWE always brings a big show to Madison Square Garden, and this week was no exception. You never know who will show up, and Rey Mysterio was around to make some history.
The November 17 episode of RAW was quite a night, and a historic one at that. Then again, their venue for the night was a very famous arena.
Rey Mysterio returned to WWE television during the November 3 episode of RAW. He didn’t wrestle that night, but he didn’t stay out of the ring for long.
This week’s WWE RAW opened up with John Cena and Dominik Mysrterio having a promo that resulted in booking a Survivor Series match for the IC Title. Then the Judgment Day came down to jump Cena, but the Greatest of All Time had backup.
Sheamus ran down for the save, and so did Rey Mysterio. After that, a six-man tag team match was started. In the end, after a triple 5 Knuckle Shuffle, which was really a 15 Knuckle Shuffle, a double 6-1-9 and an AA and Brogue Kick, the babyface team got the win.
Before tonight, Rey Mysterio’s last match took place on April 18, 2025, when LWO’s Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio teamed with Rey Fenix to defeat American Made’s Brutus Creed, Chad Gable, and Julius Creed on WWE Friday Night SmackDown. So, it’s been nearly seven months since we saw the WWE Hall of Famer in the ring.
During Rey Mysterio’s return appearance a couple of weeks ago, things nearly popped off with Dominik Mysterio. He interrupted Dominik Mysterio’s promo after Dominik retained the IC Title over the weekend. Rey challenged Dominik’s claim of being King of the Luchadors. The segment ended with Rey hitting a 6-1-9 before Dominik escaped.
We will have to see what Rey Mysterio does next. If anything, he has a bone to pick with his son.
