Sadie Sink and Noah Jupe will lead a new production of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet in the West End.
Sink will make her West End debut, saying today that she had always dreamed of working in London and described the production as an “exciting challenge”. Jupe, who makes his stage debut, said theatre had always intrigued him and that the project was “an opportunity you simply cannot turn down”.
The show will run at the Harold Pinter Theatre next spring, directed by Robert Icke. Icke, whose recent credits include Oedipus in the West End and on Broadway, returns to Shakespeare following his landmark staging of Hamlet with Andrew Scott. He said Romeo and Juliet is a play he has “returned to again and again” and that he looks forward to working with Sink and Jupe.
The creative team includes Hildegard Bechtler (set and costume), Jon Clark (lighting), Tom Gibbons (sound), and Ash J Woodward (video), with casting by Julia Horan and Jim Carnahan. Further casting has yet to be announced.
Produced by Empire Street Productions, the company’s recent work includes Elektra, Slave Play, and Prima Facie, which will tour the UK in 2026. As part of the run, the production will host The Star-Crossed Projects, a schools initiative with ATG Entertainment Creative Learning offering workshops, tickets and performance opportunities for Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
Performances begin on 16 March 2026 and run for 12 weeks until 6 June, with a press night scheduled for 31 March. A Pay What You Can Lottery and day seats are available, along with group and school rates.
