Revealed: The real reason La Voix will be missing this weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing

The BBC has confirmed Strictly Come Dancing’s La Voix won’t be taking part in this weekend’s special Blackpool episode.
The drag artist, who performs with professional partner Aljaž, will skip this week’s episode and be given a pass into the following week due to an injury.
A BBC spokesperson said: “Due to injury, La Voix has been advised by doctors to rest and, as a result, will not dance in this weekend’s Blackpool specials. In line with the rules of Strictly Come Dancing, La Voix and Aljaž will receive a bye through to next week when it is hoped they will be able to dance again. We wish La Voix the very best for a speedy recovery.”

La Voix has also commented on the week she is missing and revealed she was “devastated” not to be taking part in this week’s episode, particularly because of the iconic nature of the episode which will take place in the Blackpool Ballroom, which is the home of ballroom and Latin dancing in the UK.
She said: “It is with immense sadness that I have to withdraw from this weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing shows in Blackpool. Due to an injury, I’ve been advised that I’m unable to perform, and my heart truly breaks knowing I won’t be dancing in such an iconic venue. Aljaž and I have worked incredibly hard, and we were so excited to share our routine with everyone. I am devastated not to be joining the rest of the cast on that famous dancefloor, but my focus now is on recovery. I’ll be cheering on all the amazing couples this weekend.”
La Voix also shared another message on her own social media platform, thanking everyone for their well wishes and revealed her injury had already begun before the most recent episode, explaining: “As many of you know, I injured my foot last week. With the help of an incredible team—and a whole lot of sparkles and determination—I was able to keep going and perform. As the old saying goes, the show must go on, and believe me, I pushed myself to make sure it did.
“However, after my appearance on Saturday night, it became clear that the injury wasn’t improving. I’ve now been advised by medical professionals to rest properly, which means I won’t be able to perform in Blackpool this week. It breaks my heart, because performing for all of you means the world to me, but I have to listen to my body so I can come back stronger (and with both heels working!).”
Aljaž reshared La Voix’s messages and showed support for his dance partner, as did many of the other Strictly professionals who left messages of support under La Voix’s post.
This now means just six couples will take part in this weekend’s show – George and Alexis, Amber and Nikita, Lewis and Katya, Karen and Carlos, Balvinder and Julian, and Alex and Johannes.
We’re wishing La Voix a speedy recovery.
Strictly Come Dancing returns this weekend on 22 November at 6:35pm
