‘I work as a cam girl with my face hidden while my family is asleep’

A new generation of women are working as cam girls while keeping their identities secret

Three women have revealed how they secretly work as ‘faceless’ cam girls – and their loved ones have no idea. For more than two decades, the adult cam platform Babestation has been a late-night staple for Brits logging on to chat to women.

And now a new wave of cam girls are choosing to stay faceless – including a woman who has two lives, a mum who turned to camming after her husband left and another mum in a bid for financial freedom who says she now earns up to £3,000 a month.

‘My boyfriend has no idea that I’m on Babestation – I have a secret life’ said one of the women – who goes by her moniker, Mixedbbwqueen – a 35-year-old from the UK who first started working as a cam girl to “be her own boss”.

She joined Babestation earlier this year – but her other half has no idea as she does her job after he goes to sleep. “At the start I was bored, curious and wanted to make a bit of extra money,” she said. “But I didn’t want my face out there forever.

“My boyfriend doesn’t know, he thinks the extra cash comes from foot videos. It’s been quite easy to get away with it as he works nights and I can do my job when he’s working or in the day when he’s asleep. I try to be as quiet as I can – or wait for him to leave for work if I am camming in the day – so I can be my full free self, because I am a naturally loud person.

“I always lock the door and have almost been caught a few times. I didn’t know I was going to continue doing it for as long as I have but I don’t want to stop. Being faceless gives me confidence.

“I can perform and enjoy what I do without feeling exposed. It’s not about shame, I just don’t want to be recognised in public or have people make assumptions about me. I like the idea that I can be someone else, be free, without it crossing over into my real life.

“Sometimes I feel like I live two different lives – this is my little secret. But I think it might be something that I end up discussing with my boyfriend down the line.”

Vee BeeXoX is a 45-year-old from Sussex and started as a faceless camgirl following a divorce. She said: ” ‘I joined Babestation to pay for my house and two kids after my husband left – I work from my bedroom while the kids sleep.” She was convinced to give it a go in July this year after a conversation with a mum at the school gates.

With two kids and a house to pay for, she initially took on the gig to make more money. “My husband left me with two kids and a house to pay for,” she said. “I was about to lose everything and had no help from anyone.

“So I thought, ‘What can I do in between running my two small businesses to make more money?’ “That’s when a mum friend confessed what she was up to on Babestation and encouraged me to try it, too. I needed to get a job that paid well and to sort it out myself, which is exactly what I’ve done.

“People think camming is really sleazy or that men are disrespectful to the models – but not once has this happened to me. As a mum I only ever do my job in the house when I’m on my own or when the kids are in bed asleep. I’ve also got a monitor on them just in case the worst happens and they wake up.

“This job is amazing and right now it’s helping me get through.”

Rachel Smith from East Sussex first started camming for financial freedom. The 30-year-old mum initially joined the network at the start of 2025.

Now, nearly a year later, she earns between £2,000-£3,000 every month. “I’m one of those people who says yes to everything, so I thought, ‘Why not give it a go?’,” she said. “People pay to see me from my lips down, which is a ridiculous confidence boost.

“I do my cam work from home because I have children and can fit my job around them. I do this job for my family and for me, it offers me so much freedom and flexibility.

“I’ve even told some of my friends about it, who have signed up as well – and found it super empowering. One of my mum pals was really struggling; she has to pay a mortgage and has kids, and this has just completely changed everything for her.

“You make friends, you chat.”
