Despite the match having no consequence for either nation’s qualification chances, Bangladesh, backed by more than 20,000 fans, looked like the stronger side. 

Playing a back four, most of India’s passes have been between them, trying to open up space behind the Bangladesh defence. The Blue Tigers have failed to create any clear-cut chances, apart from Chhangte’s attempt at an empty goal following goalkeeper Mitul Marma’s mistake. Bangladesh’s star player, Hamza Choudhury, came to the rescue then with a lovely header clearance and has been very much involved in keeping India at bay.

On the other hand, Bangladesh has stuck to its plan of relying on counterattacks and took the lead thanks to a blistering run from Rakib Hossain. He blazed past Akash Mishra after India conceded possession from a throw-in and set up Shekh Morsalin for an easy finish inside the Indian box.
