ASU QB Sam Leavitt could test the transfer market this offseason per report

Quarterback Sam Leavitt’s season came to an abrupt end when it was announced he would have season-ending surgery on his foot. It appears that he could be done at Arizona State as well, according to a report from Pete Nakos of On3.
The former Michigan State quarterback found new life with the Arizona State Sun Devils under head coach Kenny Dillingham, who revived the program from the doldrums of the Pac-12 as they moved into the Big 12 before last season. It was due in large part to a number of new faces, including Leavitt.
In 20 games for the Sun Devils, Leavitt threw for 4,513 yards with 34 touchdowns to 9 interceptions while completing 61.3% of his passes. As Nakos reports, his camp is likely looking for a big deal to make a move this offseason. There will be plenty of teams that could be looking to upgrade the quarterback position or replace a starter in the coming months.
Despite the loss of Leavitt, the Sun Devils are still in the Big 12 championship hunt. They need some help to get there, as Texas Tech and BYU control their own destiny. A rematch of these two Big 12 powers seems likely. Last season, the Sun Devils made it to the College Football Playoff after winning the Big 12 crown in their first season as members of the conference.
There will no doubt be plenty of suitors for the former four-star recruit from Oregon.
