Tuesday’s World Cup qualifying predictions

There are a couple of eyecatching top-two clashes in the European section of World Cup qualifying to enjoy on Tuesday, headlined by a Group B showdown between Kosovo and Switzerland.

Kosovo need an unlikely 11-goal swing to usurp their visitors but even earning a win could prove beyond them.

Kosovo deserve plenty of credit for landing a top-two finish and three wins, no losses and four cleans sheets in four games will mean spirits are high in the camp.

However, high spirits will not be enough to exact revenge on Switzerland, who won the reverse fixture 4-0 in September.

Murat Yakin’s visitors have scored 25 goals while winning seven and losing none of their last nine games, and another thrilling victory looks to be on the cards in Pristina.

The second top-two clash for punters to get stuck into sees Group H leaders Austria take on Bosnia-Herzegovina, and a former Stoke and West Ham hero could have a big say on proceedings.

Austria know a win would see take them to a World Cup finals for the first time since 1998 and who better to fire them there than record appearance-maker and goalscorer Marko Arnautovic.

After bagging a brace in Cyprus, the maverick forward has scored six goals in his last two international appearances and 6-4 looks a big price for him to add to his growing tally against a Bosnia defence whose only clean sheet in six games came against San Marino.
