Estevao Willian makes claim that should absolutely terrify Chelsea’s rivals

Chelsea and Brazil star Estevao Willian seems to be happy with how his development is going at the moment.

That is understandable, with Estevao recently scoring in his country’s 2-0 win against Senegal.

Estevao managed to outshine Vinicius Junior and the other superstars that Brazil had on the pitch that afternoon, showing the kind of form he is in.

Since then, the 18-year-old has spoken about his improvement under Carlo Ancelotti.

Estevao Willian says he’s ‘getting better and better’

Estevao feels he is only growing by the day, which is bad news for Chelsea’s rivals.

“The mentality is that he’s trying to push me to be the best I can, and I’m very happy about that,” the former Palmeiras star told HaytersTV as he discussed Ancelotti’s impact on him after Brazil’s victory over Senegal.

“You see when someone likes you, when they not only praise you but also give you a little scolding when needed.

“When it’s time to praise, praise. When it’s time to criticise, criticise. So, I’m very happy for this incredible moment I’m living. It’s about working, improving every day. I know I’ve started to improve. I keep getting better and better here because it’s an honour.”

Despite still being a teenager and only just arriving in England, Estevao has already managed to make an impact in the Premier League.

It was the Brazilian, of course, who scored Chelsea’s last-minute winner against Liverpool last month.

With Estevao only improving, the rest of the Premier League should be feeling worried.

Chelsea fans still yet to see the best of Estevao Willian

Estevao has been bright this season and the Brazil international clearly feels that he is improving. Yet he is not quite at the level that he was at when playing for Palmeiras.

Estevao is not starting as often as he did at Palmeiras and the Brazilian league is not as strong as the Premier League. Nevertheless, the attacker is still not registering as many key passes or completing as many dribbles, for example.

Ultimately, Chelsea supporters have not seen what Estevao is fully capable of yet, and that may not happen until Enzo Maresca hands him a starting role.

Former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Gary O’Neil thinks Pedro Neto is the only thing blocking Estevao’s pathway into the first team.

At some stage, though, you would expect the Brazil star to oust his teammate from the starting XI, especially if he can maintain the form that he is currently in.
