Kosovo vs Switzerland: UEFA World Cup Qualifiers stats & head-to-head

Switzerland booked their place at the 2026 World Cup with an unbeaten qualifying record, holding off a late Kosovo comeback to draw in Pristina.
After a flat first half, Ruben Vargas slipped in behind to meet Djibril Sow’s threaded pass in the 47th minute, slotting past Kosovo goalkeeper Arijanet Muric.
But Florent Muslija cancelled out their lead with a stunning curled strike into the top right corner on 74 minutes.
The hosts pressed for a late winner with efforts from Baton Zabergja and Vedat Muriqi smothered by goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.
Switzerland needed a win or a draw to qualify automatically for next year’s tournament, while even a win for Kosovo would likely not have been enough thanks to Switzerland’s far superior goal difference.
The result means the Swiss finished top of Group B with 14 points while Kosovo, hunting a first appearance at a World Cup, secured second place with 11 points and will play in March’s European play-offs.
