WEATHER HEADLINES
- NEXT 12: Another round of storms this evening, some strong mainly west & southwest of Louisville 5-10PM ET
- SHORT TERM: Cloudy and seasonable Wednesday, rain and storms return by late Thursday into Friday
- LONG TERM: Turbulent Thanksgiving week with a rain to winter weather scenario by the end of the week
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Storms could be strong southwest of Louisville this evening until about 10PM ET. Damaging winds, small hail, and a very small tornado risk are on the table.
We look drier overnight with mostly cloudy skies and lows in the 40s by Wednesday morning.
Clouds will continue on Wednesday as highs reach into the 50s during the afternoon. Due to a front still draped over our area, Southern Kentucky will be near 60 degrees while part of Southern Indiana may be stuck in the 40s.
Clouds hang around Wednesday night as lows drop into the 40s again under a cloudy sky.
Rain will gradually move back in Thursday afternoon and especially Thursday evening as our next system arrives. Highs will be in the 50s Thursday afternoon as this happens.
Rain and thunder on Friday will be widespread. There is a small chance of stronger storms, but it’s too low and uncertain at this point to mention more than just that.
We’ll focus on drying out gradually on Saturday and being completely dry for Sunday this weekend, all with highs in the 50s.
Thanksgiving week starts quiet, two systems will move through starting around mid next week, giving us rain for the first system and potentially a winter weather event for the second one late in the week and into the weekend.
We’ll keep you updated!
