Carmelo Anthony’s high school coach sees similarity between father and son, Kiyan Anthony

Kiyan Anthony has been displaying his offensive prowess since he was in high school. His offense was one of the reasons that he got offers from Auburn, Syracuse, Florida State, Rutgers, Ohio State and USC.

Kiyan’s playing style has drawn a lot of attention on social media, with some fans pointing out the similarity between Kiyan and his father’s game. Carmelo Anthony’s high school coach had the same reaction.

According to the NBA legend’s high school coach, Steve Smith, he has seen a lot of similarity between Kiyan and his father. For Smith, Kiyan, with his skills and dedication, would make it to the highest level.

“Coaching Melo and now seeing his son at the same point have similar success is pretty cool to say the least,” Smith said. “They have similarities; they can both shoot it from anywhere consistently and they both have amazing footwork. I can see that his work ethic is like his dad, too. Guys like him usually make it.”

Carmelo Anthony left an undying legacy at Syracuse. Kiyan Anthony might have chosen the same school as his father for his final transition, but he certainly has no intention of copying his father’s journey.
