The Dallas Stars are getting a boost to their offence on Tuesday against the New York Islanders.
Stars captain Jamie Benn will make his season debut after missing the first 19 games of the campaign.
Benn was sidelined after suffering a collapsed lung in the final pre-season game that required surgery.
Before this lengthy absence, Benn had missed just two regular-season games since 2021-22. Benn posted 16 goals and 49 points in 80 games last season.
The 36-year-old inked a one-year, $1-million contract with the Stars in the off-season. He’s spent his entire career with Dallas and has amounted 399 goals during that time.
Without Benn, the Stars have begun the season 12-4-3 and sit second in the Central Division.
