Golden Knights Power Past Blues, 4-1

The Vegas Golden Knights (8-4-5) found victory over the St. Louis Blues (6-9-4), 4-1, on Saturday at Enterprise Center.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Brandon Saad scored the first goal of the night with eight minutes remaining in the opening period. Brett Howden kept the puck in play, while Reilly Smith passed to Saad in the slot for the score. Two minutes later, Jack Eichel fed the puck across the middle to Pavel Dorofeyev, who set up a net front pass for Braeden Bowman. Bowman found the corner of the net and recorded a power play goal for his first career NHL goal to extend Vegas’ lead 2-0. Noah Hanifin drove a slapshot into the back of the net 36 seconds into the middle period. Reilly Smith and Zach Whitecloud dished the puck to Hanifin to generate a powerful one-timer from the blue line. With 8:40 left in the final frame, Dorofeyev delivered the puck over to Tomas Hertl on a breakaway as he buried the puck, increasing the Golden Knights’ lead to 4-0. Philip Broberg broke the scoreless stretch for the Blues just under three minutes later. The Golden Knights continued their strong defensive effort and secured the 4-1 road win in St. Louis. Akira Schmid saved 22-of-23 shots to earn his seventh win of the season in net.
