If you miss last year’s emotional Wicked press tour, you’re in luck — the cast is back again to promote the much-awaited sequel, Wicked: For Good. But you know who we haven’t really seen together? Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater. The couple has been doing promo for the movie separately and standing pretty far apart during group shots on the red carpet, causing speculation that their romance is over.

Despite the rumors, sources “close to the couple” told TMZ that they are “absolutely still together romantically.” The tabloid also reports that witnesses at the London premiere saw Grande and Slater holding hands and being affectionate backstage. For what it’s worth, they also appear to be actively liking one another’s Instagrams, which is a tell-tale sign that a celebrity couple is still on good terms. In case you need more proof, Grande posted a slideshow of images to Instagram on Tuesday night that includes a photo of her arm in arm with Slater.

So, what’s going on with these two theater kids? A source told People they’re just super-busy right now, but apparently they’re still “making it work.” “They both have a lot going on, but their relationship is the real deal,” the source said. “They’re incredibly supportive of each other’s careers and so excited for everyone to see their new film.”

Slater and Grande have been together for over two years now. They met (and apparently bonded) in December 2022, when filming for both Wicked and Wicked: For Good began. In July 2023, TMZ broke the news that the co-stars were dating while still being married to their exes, Dr. Lilly Jay and Dalton Gomez. At the time, a source told People that Grande and Gomez had separated in January, adding that “she and Ethan recently began dating, and he is separated from his wife.”

Although Wicked: For Good premieres on November 21, these two still have an entire awards season to get through. Will they be cozying it up at the 2026 Oscars? Only time will tell.
