Emma Raducanu suffers fresh injury setback

According to her management, Raducanu’s injury is not expected to seriously threaten her preparations for the coming season. Indeed, she still plans to travel to Barcelona soon for a training block with her new coach Francis Roig.
It was also revealed on Monday that Raducanu has hired a new physio in Emma Stewart, an experienced operator who helped the British Rowing team claim eight medals at last year’s Olympic regatta in Paris. Stewart left British Rowing a month ago, and is expected to join Raducanu at tour events next season, filling a dual role that covers both physiotherapy and fitness training.
The appointment should mean that Raducanu is not always surrounded by an all-male entourage on tour. Last season, she clearly enjoyed spending time with Jane O’Donoghue: the former Lawn Tennis Association coach turned financial worker whom she often refers to as “a big sister”.
