EastEnders star confirmed to join Kym Marsh in “bold” and “chilling” psychological thriller
An EastEnders and Holby City star is set to join Waterloo Road‘s Kym Marsh in a new psychological thriller adaptation. Lisa Faulkner, who played the role of Fi Browning on EastEnders back in 2017, has been announced to star opposite Marsh in the theatre adaptation of 1992 thriller Single White Female.
Following Marsh’s casting in July, Faulkner has said she is “hugely excited” to join the fellow soap star on this new adventure.
“I’m hugely excited to be returning to the stage playing opposite the utterly fantastic Kym Marsh,” Faulkner said in a statement.
“I remember getting chills watching Single White Female in the cinema back in 1992 so it’s a real thrill to be part of this bold new production.
“I cannot wait to bring this fascinating story to life and keep audiences around the UK on the edge of their seats!”

Based on the 1990 novel SWF Seeks Same by John Lutz, Single White Female had Oscar-nominated filmmaker Barbet Schroeder behind the camera.
Schroeder, who also helmed Nicolas Cage’s thriller Kiss of Death, directed Bridget Fonda and Jennifer Jason Leigh in a tense pas de deux, with Single White Female reaching cult status after receiving mixed reviews.
Now, Marsh and Faulkner take on the roles played by Fonda and Leigh, respectively.
Marsh plays software engineer and divorced single mum Allie, who advertises her spare room when she finds herself in need of some cash.
Moving in with her is the “delightful” Hedy (Faulkner). Soon the roommates’ idyll starts to “unravel” as their lives become intertwined and their boundaries blurred, with “chilling” consequences.

Written by author, journalist and broadcaster Rebecca Reid and directed by Gordon Greenberg, Single White Female opens on 9 January 2026 at Brighton’s Theatre Royal.
The show will tour the UK and Ireland until 13 June, when it concludes at Malvern’s Festival Theatre. In between, Marsh and Faulkner will perform in Nottingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, and Dublin, among other cities.
