Blakely Police: Man arrested after pointing gun at family

A Blakely man is behind bars after pointing a revolver at family members Monday evening after being asked to leave, according to a criminal complaint.
Joshua Seamans, 28, faces charges of making terroristic threats and endangering the lives of others.
According to the complaint:
At about 9:30 p.m., Blakely police responded to 221 Fifth St. for an intoxicated man with a firearm.
Sarah Seamans told dispatchers she was afraid her brother was going to use the gun.
When officers arrived, they spoke with Joshua Seamans’ mother, Maria Seamans, Emily Keating and a six-year-old juvenile outside the residence.
They told officers Joshua Seamans was inside the house with his sister Sarah.
Police moved the family members away from the house because of safety concerns.
Police Chief Guy Salerno responded and Lackawanna County SWAT was called.
Officer Jason Todd attempted to call Sarah Seamans inside the residence, but his call went to voicemail.
Emily Keating told officers Seamans was drunk and sleeping. When family members attempted to wake him up and ask him to leave, he said something like, “Yes, it’s time to go,” went to the kitchen and retrieved a revolver.
Joshua Seamans then went back into the living room where Keating, Sarah Seamans, Maria Seamans and the six-year-old juvenile gathered. He pointed the gun at them and yelled, “Call the cops.”
As police were investigating, Seamans left the residence and was arrested. Police found the loaded revolver in his front side waistband.
Seamans was arraigned Monday morning before District Judge Joanne Corbett, who set bail at $20,000. He remains at Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. on Dec. 1 before Corbett.
“The positive result of this incident was due to the utmost professionalism of all the officers and Lackawanna County SWAT team members involved,” Salerno said.
