South Yorkshire Police outline everything you need to know ahead of the Sheffield derby

There is a buzz in the air as the derby between Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday fans takes place this weekend.
The Steel City derby will take place on Sunday (23 November) and there’s a reminder for those attending to ensure you are prepared for the big day; & to plan your arrival and travel.
The highly anticipated fixture will be held at Hillsborough Stadium, meaning the city centre and the Hillsborough area will be increasingly busy in the lead up to the game.
South Yorkshire Police insist they’ll be ready to welcome people to the city, and will be patrolling the area, as well as being on hand to help.
The force wants everyone to have a safe and enjoyable day.
To make sure everyone is able to do so, they’re advising people to be mindful of others and ensure you follow the guidelines, road closures and requests of the clubs.
Away fans have also been asked to remain seated until the stadium clears, and will be kept updated on when they can exit the stadium. Please cooperate on the day so that fans can leave safely.
Road closures will be put in place on the following roads from 11am and will be removed shortly after the game:
-Leppings Lane
-A61 Penistone Road
-Fielding Road
-Bickerton Road
-Vere Road

Please be aware that Super trams are not running two hours prior to the fixture.
Sunday morning prior to 10am: Normal service on all routes.
Before the match- 10am until approximately 12pm: Blue and Yellow route services will terminate at Cathedral. Normal service on Purple and Tram Train routes.
During the match- 12pm to approximately 1pm: normal service on all routes.
