Live Nation, Ticketmaster move for judgment in DOJ, states’ US antitrust suit

( November 18, 2025, 23:00 GMT | Official Statement) — MLex Summary: Live Nation and Ticketmaster filed a motion for summary judgment on the US Department of Justice and states’ antitrust suit, arguing that after an 18-month investigation and a year of discovery, the plaintiffs “have barely a molehill” of evidence, not “a mountain” as one would expect it if “there was a lick of truth” to the claims. Plaintiffs allege that defendants have six monopolies, inferred from market shares, but that approach is only permissible where relevant markets are properly defined, the defendants said in their memorandum of law in support of judgment filed in the Southern District of New York. Plaintiffs’ “made-for-litigation” markets do not encompass the area of effective competition the law requires, and if they included all major concert venues and artists that seek to play in them, “Live Nation and Ticketmaster’s market shares are too low to infer monopoly power and Plaintiffs’ claims fail,” the filing said.See attached document: …
